Important information about self-build projects

  • First, you must provide the land title or purchase offer, building plans, and a detailed list of construction costs for project assessment purposes.
  • Before construction begins, you must have a building permit and a construction insurance policy (this type of insurance covers your property during the building phase).
  • During construction, life and disability insurance on your loan is required. Your insurance needs will be reassessed upon completion of your project.
