The Institut de la protection contre les incendies du Québec

An applicant is eligible for the Caisse Desjardins du Réseau municipal’s financial assistance fund if they are a student at the Institut de la protection contre les incendies du Québec (IPIQ) who meets the following basic conditions :

• Be enrolled full-time in an IPIQ vocational program at the time of application submission and be on track to successfully complete their studies;
• Be experiencing financial hardship that requires one-time financial assistance during the school year to help them complete their academic program at IPIQ. The following criteria will also be considered when awarding financial assistance:
  • Employment situation
  • Family situation
  • Parents’ or household income
  • Number of dependents
  • Geographic distance and housing costs

To submit an application, the student must:

1. Be a resident of Quebec.
2. Visit the Caisse’s website at www.desjardinsmunicipal.com/aide-financiere;
3. Complete all fields of the application form.
4. Obtain a recommendation from their tutor and a member of the IPIQ administration.
5. Provide the required supporting documents, including proof of enrollment and the most recent transcript.
6. Commit to meeting with a personal finance advisor at the Caisse to complete a budget planning session. Details regarding income, expenses, and fees will be required, and documents such as monthly statements, tax returns, car loan statements, account statements, and credit card statements may be requested.
7. Hold an account with the Caisse Desjardins du Réseau municipal or commit to opening one for the deposit of the bursary.
8. Confirm that they have read and accepted the financial assistance program’s rules.

Financial assistance bursaries will be awarded throughout the school year to IPIQ students who apply, subject to approval by the selection committee of the Caisse Desjardins du Réseau municipal. The selection committee is composed of Caisse board members, the Chief Executive Officer, and a member of the communications team. This committee has full discretion to determine the amount and payment terms of the bursary.

Students whose application is approved are required to hold an account with the Caisse Desjardins du Réseau municipal, as the bursary will be deposited directly into this account.
